*I saw this banner @ Le Meridien's entrance to promote their new restaurant~ PRIME (Steak House)*

*Lobby view~ do u ever see two 'see-through' plastic/glass chairs out there?*

This afternoon donno what wind blow to my office, my boss invited me go lunch with him @ Le Meridien Hotel. He has appointment with the wine supplier there, of cause i know the supplier as well. Hm..since it gonna to be free meal, why not? I wan to eat yummy food tho.. I told him i lazy to drive, we took ERL from Putrajaya to KL Town. Less hassle. hehehee...^o^ Boss paid for train ticket, it was my first time took ERL to KL Sentral. Lalalalalala....So thrilled!

ERL took 30 min to reach KL Sentral, we were bit late for lunch appointment. Don't blame me, blame my boss he was in meeting. We met Traxie at Le Meridien's lobby, we took escalator up to the new restaurant "PRIME".
*Table with full setup*

PRIME= Prime grill, Prime wine, Prime time... Prime is a steak house!! Exuding subtle elegance with modern, fashionable and yet relaxing interiors. Very nice decoration with wine rack & bottles of wine (wine walls) which reflecting the marriage of great steaks and great wines.I adore the ceiling hanging light..small little one..floating above.. lighting very dime, nice furtunire.. The chair were imported from Italy (as per the staff mentioned), there designed with uppper and lower deck, open kitchen concept to see how the chef cooking in action and a little corner for wine tasting.

We were the first guest, so everyone focus on us. (paiseh!=.=)
We were seated and menu was presented. The menu designed with a cow logo..Mooo...moo.....
*Wholegrain & poppy seed bread served with tomato butter, unsalted butter, parsley & anchovie butter*

*Oxtail confit with spinach & duck liver*

*T-bone steak*

I ordered oxtail confit with spinach & duck liver, pommery mustard crusted lamb loin with mashed parsley potato & dark jus (served with medium doneness), it was so juicy..~~ Slurp~~ and end up with bread butter pudding & freshly brewed coffee. Sunday Breakaway~ Air Terjun~ Waterfall

Sunday was a busy day!!
I woke up kinda early @ 6.30am, gave Christopher a morning call, then get myself ready for Sunday's event. What's so happening?
lalala.... Accent's club July TT, BBQ @ Ulu Langat, Sg Congkak...YES! Good for retreat!

Fida was so kind, even sms me to check whether i get up on time or not. *tee-hee*

I picked Christopher from Tesco car park then we went to 7-eleven to buy snack, bought lots of snacks. After that we were heading to Cheras to pick Stacy. Of coz on the way i morning called Stacy, *wake up!! wake up!!*

We managed to reach Petronas Jalan Cheras on time, met up some Accent Club's members. James and Fida came later on. We started off from Petronas, the journey to Ulu Langat, Sg Congkak took us around one hour to reach there. Just imagine one row of 8 Accent cars in the convoi, drove on the road. I must say ~ Cool!! Next time whoever get marry, we shall do that for the member for special occasion. LOL!

One stewpiak FFK member didnt show up, end up we don't have proper BBQ set. However, we stoped at the small town (on the way) to buy metal wire mas for our DIY BBQ grill. Thanks to James that he brought the charchoal.

After arriving the destination, we parked our cars together, paid for the RM2 parking (imagine kampung place need to pay car park?). All of us took some memorable photos.

We carried all our stuff walked around search for good spot for our BBQ activities. I brought pasta salad with sour cream & apple salad with yoghurt. Stacy bought a big watermelon, damn heavy! Christopher sponsored snacks and soft drinks. Christopher & Stacy brought their camera, so 3 of us were busy for photo shooting. Each of the them brought something along, Damien & Fida sponsored marinated chicken, Roziana sponsored sausages, Liesa sponsored lots of stuff i.e. bread, tuna, fried mee hoon, paper cup, paper plate, plastic fork, vegetables salad, etc.

All of us were so excited to see the small river, didnt manage go up to waterfall, coz we are lazy. Hahaha... The water is freezing cold, we put our drinks into the water, everyone of us soak our foot inside there... Owen found his good spot for fishing, he caught 2 little small fishes.

Fida, Roziana & I were busy BBQ, it was fun!! I brought my personal frying pan, to fry sausages, tomato and capsicum. Fida even creative, she created roti bakar with honey.

Oh yeah.. I still remembered the fun part of cutting the giant watermelon. Stacy cut the watermelon under the tree, on top of 'kayu balak'. We put plastic bag and container lid underneath, start simply cut the watermelon. Christopher also gave us a hand. :)

First of all, all guys jump into the water enjoy the water fighting, catching fishes.. After a while, needless to say, all of us joined the gang get wet together.

Before the BBQ session end up, Efy make her effort to turn up to pinch some of the food. Sree and I make a move after 1pm, coz Christopher, Stacy & I gonna rush for another appointment. Stacy has reserved a room @ Neways karaoke. We were so lucky, after we got into the car, the sky started to cry.. It was raining...

We spent 4 hours in karaoke, sang till almost lost my voice. muahaha! It was absolute fun time!!
After all, we went to Jaya Jusco Black Canyon Cafe grapped a drink, had some laugh together before back home.

The Quality of Wines

Herewith the factors that contributes to the quality of wines :-(will affect the wine products)

  • Types of grapes - size, skin sturture, skin colour & thickness
  • The soil - type of topsoil, subsoil, minerals & drainage
  • Climate conditions - heat, rain, sunshine, rainfall, frost
  • Viticulture - method of cultivation
  • Vinification - methods of wine making
  • Chemical composition of the grape - acid / sugar ratio & presend of other constituents yeast and fermentation
  • Ageing & maturing process - stainless steel or oak
  • Methods of transportation - by sea, plane, land, etc
  • Storage temperature - how is it stored?
  • Luck of the year - vintage?
So, even the wine producer used the same grape, same method to produce the wine in different country, the wine might not taste the same. But, there's certain standard to maintain the quality of the wine.

How the wine producer stored their wines in cellar? After we purchased the wines, how we store it? Thus, we have to look into the cellar conditions. ^o^

  • Storage Temperature - while 11 c (52 f) is the the ideal storage temperature for wine, anything between 5 c and 18 c is fine, provided tehre is no great temperation variation. higher temperatures do, however, increase the rate of oxidation of a wine. So a bottle stored at 18 c will age more quickly than the same wine stored at 11 c.
  • The Effect of Light - ultraviolet light is the most harmful to wine, but sunlight and artificial lighting should also be avoided. Darkness is of equal importance to temperature in the storage of wine.
  • Physically Storing Bottles - Bottles and cases should be stored or stacked on their sides to keep the corks moist, thus fully swollen and airtight, avoiding oxidation. Humidity is harmless to wine and may accompany cellars with low temperatures. So you always can see wine bottle normally stored as lanting position (horizontal)
Cheers!! Vineyard @ France

Another Movie Date

Sunday night i've an unexpected movie date ... *hee..hee...*
Cow Yuen dropped by for one night after she back from Teluk Intan Church gathering, she was tired not to drive home alone. She wanted go for a movie, we rushed to cinema grapped the ticket 30 min before the show start.
Wow! We manage to get a good seat for Superman Returns!! It's superhero comic-book-to-movie, the theme song still remain unchange, but the hero no longer is Christopher Reeve. Brandon Routh is the new superman, who looks like a smudged version of Reeve with a dash of Keanu Reeves' DNA, makes a sterling Man of Steel.
He's so cute, tall & charming!! I will dream about him one day in my sweet dream..muahahahahha.
I feel so touched when the Superman takes his sweetheart,Lois on a romantic night flight so dazzling it makes us forget there ever was a time, seems like in a dream. "You'll believe a man can fly!"
The special effects of the new millennium have definitely taken Superman to a new level. Without comparing to the older movies, Superman can now do even more 'super' things. Like lifting and island off to saving a crashing plane.
The bullet not even can shoot & hurt him. Simply 'super'!
Superman's selfless heroics are precisely what the world does need. Do you think this world need a saviour?

The movie is dedicated to Christopher Reeve, whose courage was as breathtaking as anything the Man of Steel ever did.

Packed!!! Times always not enuff!!!

Phew!! Saturday is a happy day! No need to wake up early.
Today suppose hang out with Mary @ KLCC, but last minute she has something else on. Hence, i need to go there alone. Anyway, i've my mission to be achieved. *he..he...*
John told me not to drive to KLCC coz hardly get a car parking, so i took LRT train to go there.KLCC was packed!! Lot's of sales are on going, but my money is not sales.=.= I walked thru the colourful turner to KL Convention Ctr,There's some conference, the stewpiak security and police blocked the way.It was dazzling,i need to walk at the side way (garden park)in order for me to reach Traders. I called John that i can't locate where's Traders coz can't see any logo. *LOL*

Phew! Finally i found the small reception lobby, surprised me that the lobby is simple and clean design.I took lift went up to 5 floor, GOBO chit-chat(restaurant)with vibrate and modern designs.Wow! I met Janice, Gary (ex-colleague) & John, Janice gave me a big hug!!John showed me around the restaurants, Gobo chit-chat & Gobo Upstairs (Lounge & grill). What's Gobo mean? It means 'Light' according to John. But i've found different meaning of Gobo. Check it out hereGobo 1, Gobo 2& Gobo 3

Gobo chit-chat with 210 seating capacity, divided into smoking & non-smoking,can have boot seated or normal seated tables. There's a square island buffet counter for appetizer and sushi bar. A temptation dessert chiller counter displays sweet desserts and a show bakery area for some attractions i.e. waffle baking. An open concept noodle section to show case the chinese lady chef how she prepares 'lamen' for you. Gobo chit-chat offers buffet breakfast, set lunch with semi buffet, set dinner & a la carte. The menu price range is reasonable and value for money.

A staircase from Gobo Chit-Chat leads to Gobo Upstairs-Lounge and Grill, where a contemporary and fashionable environment awaits. With an open concept bar, it offers a spectacular view of the Petronas Twin Towers. Gobo offers more than 10 types of wine selection by glass, wide selection creative cocktail & mocktail list.John & I had a late lunch at Gobo Chit-chat, he recommented me to give a try on Rigatoni with veal bolonese. Erm...yummy! The pasta is freshly made,al dente! with juicy mince veal tomato sauce. I also tried out the 'Coffee Culture'. I had a cuppa Cafe Latte, very nicely present with little stainless steel tray, short glass of whip cream sprinkled with cocoa powder served with a piece of crunchy cookie. Just lovely one! The coffee is smooth to drink with nice aroma. John told me the coffee is supplied from Coffex, brewed by Arabicca coffee bean. What a great experience!!
Never forget the table setup, impressed with the water goblet, it came with bubble designed. The table placemat came with drink coaster designed. Most of the items bought from WMF.

Besides that, John gave me a short hotel tour. We went to Club Lounge, Deluxe room & Business Centre. I just love the room, offering breathtaking views over the KLCC Park and the Towering Twin Wonders of KL, flat screen TV and cutting edge technology of complimentary broadband internet access in all rooms. The room rate inclusive complimentary buffet breakfast. ^o^
Too bad can't access health club, sky pool & spa coz yet to complete, still under construction.

After a slurpy meal, met up with John's wife, Jackie for a chat. She's so lovely and walked me to exit. Surprised me that i met up my another ex-colleague, Vicky who workes at KL Convention Ctr.

But i didn't chat that long over there, coz Christopher buzz me that he was coming to KLCC wanna to meet me up there. I rushed to KLCC said hi to him and his friend, went to Isetan grapped a SK II value pack. As you know now is Mega sales right? *wink* Then, bumped into Chamelion bought 2 hair clips and i left KLCC to Kelana Jaya for another appointment.
I was waiting at Kelana Jaya for Irene to pick me up, we had a movie date in One Utama. She got me a free ticket for Pitrates of the Carribean:Dead Man's Chest. Last weekend i was sad coz can't get the ticket for this movie. Hurray for this weekend! We managed to collect the ticket for 9pm show but with separate seat, she was one row in front of me, better than nothing yeah, mind you the whole cinema was fulled. Before the show, we went for a short shopping, i bought a pair of nice jean from Yishion. Kinda cheap with 50% off, the jean cost me RM45. ^o^

I enjoyed the casting by John Depp as Capt Jack Sparrow, he still full with his hilarious actions. William Turner (Orlando Bloom) this time showed off his sword-fight skill (no more arch), still that charming!! Make me laugh the most was the Davy Jones's heart still bumping and keep inside the chest for years. Wondering can survive that long.. Davy Jone's octopus face so funny, multi functioning... :p The most 'potong steam' ~worst part of this movie, ended with a cliff-hanger. There's no complete ending. Surely, this sequal even make us curious and can't wait for Part 3 (due in May 2007).

Voila! That's about my fruitful Saturday! Full of appointments, times seem running out!! I wish i can have a magic watch, add on addtional hours of the day. Nah..I don't want a magic compass as Capt Jack. ~Bleuk~
Phew!I back home at 1 a.m ^o^

Emotional Vs Rational

I've been struggling long enough with my 'private affair' in life...
Things break into gazilion pieces in my mind..What'cha gonna do now?
Mentally abuse, think of too much nonsense, lots of worries...anxious... drove me crazy like nuts.
The uncomfortable sound of silence... Emotional abuse please stay far away....

I shared my frustration, problems with my friends.
One of a friend of mine, Klein told me that:"Female is an unique species with too much of emotional within themselve. Always can't solve the problem rationally, because of emotional influenced the decision making." Because think of too many nonsense and consequences, will make you back off and hold back. Why not just do it! He mentioned that look forward A PERFECT DAY!! I told him that there's nothing perfect in this world.

Klein mentioned that "That's why you have to look forward for a perfect day! You must treat everyday as a problem day! Everyday will full of problems await you to solve, then you only can remember the significant day itself! You won't simply slip your mind off, otherwise day just another day, so monotonous. Take the problems as an opportunity and challenge, you will grow stronger, smarter, tougher..." That's part of life, just face it!

He told me he would not involve so much of emotional impact into an issue, thus only can make the firm decision to solve the issue. Don't perceive it as a problem at all. To be RATIONAL!
Don't put the past experienced into the matter, don't have pre-judgement, don't involve personal emotion, don't treat the person that you know in the past as core impact, never ever think of the person attitute, behavior and charateristic. Be focus! phew...It sounds bit tough yeah!

Some circumtances, we are not allow to think too much..we have limited time frame for decision making, some unexpected events will come along. Even get challenge within oneself, tend to follow your heart? or your mind? To follow devilish or angelic?

So now, let's make an emotional withdrawal and step along..

Do you love WINE?

Do you love wine? YES, I do….

  • What is WINE?
Wine is the naturally fermented juices of freshly gather ripe grapes which have been pressed.

  • How grape juice turns to wine?
Here is what happens to grape juice, which has grape sugar in it, the yeast which is all about us in the air, settles on the grapes and starts a blitzkrieg on each sugar molecule, splitting it into equal parts of alcohol and carbonic acid gas. If fermentation takes place in an open vat, the gas escapes into the air, leaving the alcohol behind. Voila! So the grape juice will be transmitted into wine.

    Classification of Wine

Sparkling wine – a wine whose carbon dioxide is created and trapped in the wine
through the second fermentation

Still wine – a wine that all the
alcohol is derived from single fermentation (red wine, white wine, rose
wine)

Fortified wine – a wine which has higher alcohol contents
compared to still wine (between 15% - 24%)

Aromatized wine – a wine
where aromatic flavours are added into the wine.

  • Wine Tasting & Wine Assessment

We need to assess the sight (colour), smell and taste of a wine and compare them to a set of standards.

Importance ratio / scoring – colour (3), smell (7) and taste (10), therefore final score out of 20.

Sight (see) – using the eyes to judge condition and colour (determine density of colour and clarity of the wine)

Smell(sniff) – using the nose to judge aroma and bouquet (characteristics detectable by smell : age, variety, faults)

Taste (sip) – using the palate to judge the taste, flavour, age and mouthful of the wine (oxidized, taste & gulp)

*Swirl – swirl the wine in the wine glass to determine alcohol (tears / legs)

A wine must have clean, fruity bouquet and a pleasant taste on the palate. There is a beauty in the brilliant colour, the colour also gives the first indication of the wine’s body; the deeper the colour, the fuller it will be. Mind you, naturally this applies to wines of the same type. To totally dissimilar wines cannot be compared.

After the appeal to the eye comes the sense of smell. The bouquet, aroma of the wine, tells you much of what the taste will be. Finally, the palate should confirm it.
Wine tasting should be done seriously. But in drinking wine is for pleasure and enjoyment, which the wine gives. J

The selection of wine on the menu which is a matter of personal taste and opinion. Most of the wine lead to many food and personal preference is the deciding factor.
